The schedule includes university and college visits at West Carleton with dates, times and location.
Please sign up in Guidance for any visits scheduled during class. Please have your attendance taken before coming to the presentation that occurs during class time!

APPLYING FOR COLLEGE THROUGH ONTARIO COLLEGES

If you are applying to a Private College or a College outside of Ontario, you will need to go directly to their admissions department to find out what they need for you to apply.  If you require a high school transcript please come to Guidance and we can help you.

Important Dates:

Early October 2018:

Apply to College.  You need your OEN number to apply.  You can find this number at the top of your report card.  Link to Ontario Colleges: www.ontariocolleges.ca.  You may create an account and click this link to begin your application.

Once you have applied you will receive an OCAS application number.   We do not have access to this number so keep this number for future reference.

October 4, 2018:

College Information Program(C.I.P) visits Algonquin College. Event is from 1 - 2:30 p.m. Students can email Anne Kalila contact at Algonquin College kalila@algonquincollege.com

February 1, 2019:

The deadline for applying to highly competitive programs.  Applications received and paid for on or before this date will be given equal consideration by the colleges.

Earliest date the colleges may release offers to applicants. Earliest date that applicants may confirm an offer of admission.

May 1, 2019:

Applicants must confirm their acceptance of an offer of admission by this date. Log into your ontariocolleges.ca account to confirm your offer. Each college will determine the due date to confirm offers made after May 1.  Check your offer letter for details.

Mid-June 2019:

Earliest date that colleges may require payment of tuition fees to secure your spot in your program. Each college sets its own tuition deposit amount and payment deadlines.

Open houses and campus tours are another excellent way to get a real feel for campus life at any particular college.

You will need your PIN number to apply!  Listen to announcements to come to Guidance to pick up your pin.

October 2018

January 16, 2019:

DEADLINE TO APPLY TO ONTARIO UNIVERSITIES  www.ouac.on.ca

February 5, 2019:

If you have applied by the January 16th deadline then this is the recommended last date to submit university and program changes.

May 29, 2019: 

The latest date you can expect a response from an Ontario university. This includes: an offer of admission; a refusal; or a deferral, once additional information is received.

June 3, 2019:

Earliest date you may be required to respond to an Ontario university offer of admission and give a financial commitment(e.g., registration deposit, residence deposit etc).

Canadian Red Cross First Aid & CPR Training

Attention Students! Many post-secondary programs require applications to provide proof ofStandard First Aid & CPR training as part of the pre-admission process. The Canadian Red Cross offers this certification on a regular basis to students for this purpose as well as those students who require this certification for employment and / or volunteer opportunities.
