The Scholarship Report is a bimonthly, online resource to help students and their families navigate the lengthy and time consuming process of applying to scholarships.

Students can access the publication through career cruising. It appears on their career cruising homepage under 'Suggested Links'. A paper copy is available in Guidance to view!

Reedsy National Creative Writing Scholarship

Application Deadline: 
October 21, 2019
Value of Scholarship: $1000 biannually
Number of Scholarships Available: 1 cash, 5 sponsorship opportunities for the fall semester award

 Applicants must be enrolled in a college or graduate program in the United States, Canada, or Australia. Applicants must have completed the first chapter of a novel they are currently writing, or have written but not published, to submit for review.

How to Submit: All applications should be submitted via this form. Each submission should be 1,000-7,500 words and accompanied by a short synopsis from the author. Applicants can visit the scholarship page for more information.

The University of Toronto National Scholarship Program

Students who have been nominated by their schools as National Book Award recipients may submit applications to the National Scholarship Program.
In addition, students who identify themselves as meeting the scholarship criteria are invited to apply directly for the National Scholarship, without having been nominated for the Book Award.



Schulich Leader Scholarship 

Launched in 2012, this $100 million scholarship fund provides 50 undergraduate scholarships each year, across top Canadian universities. 50 are awarded to high school graduates enrolling in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math program at 20 partner universities across Canada.
Every high school in Canada can nominate one graduating student each year to apply for the scholarship

National Union of Public and General Employees Scholarships 

There is six scholarships offered of $1,500 each to students who plan to enter the 1st year of a public post-secondary institution full-time in 2019-2020. Scholarships are open to children / grandchildren or foster children of a National Union member.

Horatio Alger National Vocational & Technical Scholarship Program 

The Association will award 25 scholarships in 2019 with a maximum award amount of $3,000 depending on the length of the program and need of the student.

Disability Credit Canada Scholarship for Canadian Students with Disabilities

Scholarship is valued at $1,000.  Award money goes towards tuition to an accredited Canadian post-secondary institution.   The scholarship will be awarded to a Canadian high school student with a documented disability who is pursuing post-secondary education in the field of study in health care, criminal justice or community & social services at an accredited Canadian institution for the upcoming academic year 2019/2020.

The Heer Law Entrepreneurship Scholarship

Scholarship value of $2,000.  To be eligible applicants must be currently attending university or college or set to attend during the 2019 - 2020 academic year.
