The Youth Philanthropy Initiative (YPI) runs at West every year. The organization provides a $5000 grant to a local charity based on the advocacy of our grade ten students. This year's finalists did an amazing job of advocating for their charities!! Jenna Heer, Toby Richardson, Aslan Purvis-Lauzon, and Kian O'Neill competed in the final event.
The winner of this year's $5000 grant is Toby Richardson, advocating for the CrossRoads Children's Mental Health Centre!!!
Special thanks to our local honourable guests: Director Camille Williams-Taylor, MP McCrimmon, MPP Fullerton, Counselor El-Chanitry, Trustee Scott, and Mayor Watson.
Also a HUGE THANK YOU to Ahmed El-Hamad, this year's student lead coordinator.
