Applying for College through Ontario Colleges

If you are applying to a Private College or a College outside of Ontario, you will need to go directly to their admissions department to find out what they need for you to apply.  If you require a high school transcript please come to Guidance and we can help you.

Important Dates:

October 2017:

Apply to College.  You need your OEN number to apply.  You can find this number at the top of your report card.  To access the online application go to: www.ontariocolleges.ca. Once you have applied you will receive an OCAS application number.   We do not have access to this number so keep this number for future reference.

October 5, 2017:

College Information Program(C.I.P) visits Algonquin College.  Information available at: www.ontariocolleges.ca/news/cip/cip-schedule  (week two Eastern Ontario)

October 15, 2017:

First date that application data will be sent to colleges.  Earliest date that colleges may acknowledge applications.

February 1, 2018:

Applications received on or before this date will be given equal consideration by the colleges.

May 1, 2018:

Applicants must confirm their acceptance of an offer of admission by this date. Log into your ontariocolleges.ca account to confirm your offer. Each college will determine the due date to confirm offers made after May 1.  Check your offer letter for details.

Mid - June  2018:

Earliest date that colleges require payment of tuition deposit to secure your spot in your program. Each college sets its own tuition deposit amount and payment deadlines.

If you have applied by the January 11th deadline then this is the recommended last date to submit all information to OUAC.

May 29, 2018

You can expect an admission response by this date.

June 1, 2018

Earliest date you may be required to respond to an offer of admission.

Canadian Red Cross First Aid & CPR Training

Attention Students! Many post-secondary programs require applications to provide proof of Standard First Aid & CPR training as part of the pre-admission process. The Canadian Red Cross offers this certification on a regular basis to students for this purpose as well as those students who require this certification for employment and / or volunteer opportunities.
